Verdure – Litsea Cubeba Natural Soap

Verdure is a handmade natural soap scented with pure litsea cubeba essential oil, known for its fresh lemony citrus aroma. Often called May Chang, Litsea Cubeba has a bright citrus fragrance that is crisp and refreshing without being sharp. In soap, it creates a light, energising bar with a scent that feels clean and vibrant.

Each bar is handmade in the Scottish Highlands using nourishing plant and pure essential oils, with no synthetic fragrance. The slow cold process method allows the soap to cure naturally, producing a long-lasting bar that is rich in natural glycerine and kind to your skin.

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Safflower Oil, Shea Butter, Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil, Clay.

Minimum bar weight 100g

Handmade soap contains no hardeners, so it will soften if left in standing water. Use with a draining soap dish to avoid this. Please recycle or compost the paper band — once your soap has gone, there is no trace.

Did you know? Litsea Cubeba is one of those fascinating botanical oddities. Despite smelling like bright lemon peel, it is not a citrus fruit at all. The oil is distilled from the small pepper-like berries of an Asian tree in the laurel family. Perfumers like it because it gives a vivid citric lift that lasts longer than many lemon oils. Litsea Cubeba contains a high amount of citral, the same aromatic molecule responsible for the scent of lemon peel.
